Worship & Music
We embrace a liturgically rich tradition in our worship. Weekly worship moves from gathering time, to hearing and responding to the Word proclaimed, then we prepare to take the Word into the world as ambassadors of Christ's church in every aspect of our lives. Worship is interactive with responsive readings, prayer offerings, lay leaders and a sincere but casual mood. All are welcome! Children are welcome in worship and enjoy a weekly children's sermon with the pastor.
Music is an important part of worship at Central Presbyterian Church, including a mix of traditional and contemporary hymns. Worship is enhanced by a chancel choir, pipe organ, fine musicians.
We celebrate open communion on the first Sunday of each month, each Sunday in Lent, and each Sunday in Advent. Anyone unable to attend worship and wishing to take home communion may contact the church office at 217-632-2651 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The choir rehearses on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m. September through May and sings in worship service twice a month. Your musical gifts are always welcome. Contact director Rich Ford for more information at 217-632-3791 or .
Special Worship Enhancements
At Central, members are encouraged to use their gifts in worship. Inspiration is offered through vocal ensembles, instrumental music, and dramatic presentations.
