On March 16th, Menard County Housing Authority offices announced that it would be closed to the public until April 1, 2020. MCHA will continue to monitor recommendations from the CDC as well as from State, Local, and Federal officials. Following the Governor's “stay at home order”, Menard County Housing Authority will extend the closure and change to operations through at least April 7th.

Employees have been encouraged to work remotely during this time. All staff will be checking emails regularly and staying on top of phone calls and voicemails remotely when they are not in the office.

Staff will continue to facilitate important workflows that ensure participant subsidy is correct and HAP/URP payments continue to be issued to owners and participants. This is uncharted waters for all of us and we will be using electronic communication and technology to continue to process re-certifications. We will need our participants' cooperation in meeting this challenge. When you receive a notification to complete your Annual Re-certification it is of the utmost importance that you complete and returns any needed paperwork/documentation promptly. If you have received a re-certification packet or communication regarding your Annual Re-certification process and need assistance completing the process please contact your caseworker.

If you have a loss of employment/income due to COVID-19 and/or the corresponding shutdown of many businesses/industries it is urgent that you notify your caseworker and provide documentation so that we may process an interim re-certification.

All inspections of units have been postponed until after April 7th. If you have an HQS emergency, please contact your caseworker by either phone (Andee @ 217-610-8135 or Danielle @ 217-717-2433) or email and we will do our best to work with the property owner/manager and resident to evaluate and resolve issues.

All home-ownership counseling, budgeting, FSS, and/or any other in-person meetings with any MCHA staff is prohibited until after April 7th.

The health and safety of our staff and residents is of the utmost importance to MCHA and we will continue to follow guidance from the CDC and HUD as well as State, Local, and Federal authorities. Please continue to watch our website and Facebook page for any further updates.

Please call your caseworker at the numbers listed above and/or our main phone, 217-632-7723 if you need immediate assistance.
